Hello, my name is Ceinwen (they/them) MA, MFA.

I am an art psychotherapist as well as a clinical supervisor based in Bristol, UK.

I am registered with the Health and care professions council (HCPC) and a member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT), offering online and in person sessions.

Currently alongside my private practice, I specialise in work with people who are refugees and asylum seeking. I have varied clinical experience with children, young people and adults. The types of issues that I am experienced at working with include: CPTSD, trauma; sexual, emotional and physical abuse, self harm and suicidal ideation, grief, depression and anxiety, low self esteem, attachment and family issues, as well as work focused around the trans-personal.

My work is trauma informed, socially engaged and intersectional in its focus, with the intention of being a safer space for individuals within the LGBTQ+ community. I follow a person centred approach, following a psychosocial model, I create a unique relationship with each client. I offer an open, non judgemental space that nurtures a growing understanding of self and ones life experiences.

There is no pressure to use or make art within my therapy space, but I always have available a selection of art materials such as clay, painting, drawing and collage materials, alongside other creative tools to aid exploration of your inner world.

Art therapy Reviews

“Art therapy has been my escape, the only thing I look forward to every week. It's the thing I have felt I have really needed most, each week. It has been the place where no matter what my week, day or morning has been like, I make every bit of effort to make sure I'm there.”

“Art for me is therapeutic and definitely healing and a way to release. To have Ceinwen there, providing a very calm and relaxed environment, guiding me through each session and giving me ways to express how I’m feeling through art and it has been the actual highlight of my weeks. In fact most weeks for me this past year, whenever i’ve felt run down, suffering with low moods or felt a bit crazy with everything going on, it’s helped allow me to channel those energies and be creative and explore, as well as let go of those energies and ground myself. If I walk in tense, I leave relaxed”

“I’ve enjoyed meeting Ceinwen and the women who joined the group. We have really been able to open up and get to know each other and even create friendships within the group. It has been great to watch each other grow creatively as well. We have benefited from it so much. Having this group has allowed me to do something for myself, as my life is and always has been a bit over run with doing things for everyone else, where I had never found time to do anything for me”.
